Samoens is in the Grand Massif - 4th largest ski area in France. 5 villages - all with their own distinct ski terrain: Samoens, Flaine, Carroz, Morillon and Sixt. 131 runs - 15 Green | 52 Blue | 51 Red | 14 Black | 3 ski parks - 78 ski lifts and 256 km of piste, a vertical drop of 1800m and Europes longest blue run, the 14km Las Cascadas, which runs through a national park back to Sixt, and some fantastic natural bowls for off piste skiing.
Beginners - Samoens has one of the best beginner areas in the Alps. A great selection of greens and blues, ideal for small children or rusty adults. We like that you can catch the gondola straight back.
Intermediate - A great selection of blues and reds, tree lined or semi off piste, which is great for this level. You can start skiing from the top of the Massif Express at 1600m, or carry on to the bowl at Flaine.
Advanced - The area has some great off piste along with some challenging blacks. The off piste is relatively safe being largely in the natural bowl of Flaine. There are some great guides available in the area.
